There is no background. So whichever color you select will be the color of the decal itself. You should order Black.

How easy are these to remove if I change my mind down the road? I have dark wood steps made from pergo. I have 13 steps.
Hello!! Every color except for the ones with a "P" are removable vinyl decal. They can be scraped off the surface when you no longer need them. I removed mine from my laminate wooden floors when I moved with no problems after having them on for 5 years. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. -Jessi
